Over 100 lbs of drugs seized in Wichita County traffic stop

WICHITA COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — More than 100 pounds of drugs are off the streets after a traffic stop by the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office.

Ashleigh Nicole Rangel and Rapp Rashard Robinson, both of Houston, are charged with possession of marijuana >50 pounds<=2,000 pounds, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance PG 2 OR 2-A >= 400G, and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance PG 1-B >=400G.

On Monday, June 1, deputies with the Criminal Interdiction Unit were monitoring traffic on Highway 287 and State Highway 25 when they clocked a vehicle for allegedly speeding and an unsafe lane change.

A traffic stop was then made between FM 1739 and Midway Church, and deputies said when they approached the vehicle, they detected the smell of marijuana…
