Caroline Street Shock, Woman Found Dead in Downtown Houston

A stretch of Caroline Street in downtown Houston became the focus of a death investigation early Wednesday after officers found a woman unresponsive with visible signs of trauma. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene in the 2300 block of Caroline.

What investigators said

Officers were dispatched around 6:35 a.m. on a report of a person down at the location, according to MyTexasDaily. Responding patrol units discovered the woman and called in HFD, which confirmed she had died.

In a news release, the Houston Police Department said the investigation remains active as detectives process the scene and coordinate initial steps with HFD. Authorities have not released further details about what may have led up to the woman’s death.
