A look at the growing population of Texans living to ages 100 and older

TEXAS — Pew Research data shows the number of Americans living to age 100 and older is expected to quadruple over the next 30 years, including in Texas, which is home to thousands of centenarians.

Selesteen Wiggins, who was born in Louisiana and moved to Houston when she was 22 years old, will tell you life’s journey has taken her many places. On June 6, 2026, she went to The Woodlands, just north of Houston, for her 100th birthday celebration.
