HOUSTON — Three people are now facing charges after authorities say they broke into a Northwest Houston comic book store over the weekend, made off with more than $10,000 worth of comics, and then allegedly tried to sell the stolen goods at another shop just 17 miles away. The District Attorney has accepted felony theft charges against two of those arrested.
The break-in happened at Texas Time Warp Collectibles, where surveillance cameras captured the whole thing. Kevin McLaughlin, co-owner of the store, said discovering the theft was a gut punch.
