GALVESTON – A former Boy Scout leader and NASA engineer from the Houston area has been sentenced to 80 years in prison after a Galveston County jury convicted him in a child sexual assault case involving multiple accusers.
According to court records, Robert Griffin Alexander of League City was found guilty Thursday of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Prosecutors said the abuse involved a 12-year-old boy and occurred over several years beginning in 2000.
According to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, the victim first contacted law enforcement in 2017. Two of his brothers later told investigators they had also been abused by Alexander.
