Police looking for Madison County inmate after escape in Mobile County

SARALAND, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Department of Corrections says it is trying to locate an escaped inmate in Mobile County with connections to the Tennessee Valley.

ADOC said Tuesday night that they are looking for inmate Jackie Boyett, 41, after he left his assigned jobsite in Saraland, Alabama. The department said he left the job location at around 6:40 p.m.

Boyett is currently serving a 28-year sentence at the Mobile Community Based Facility and Community Work Center for first degree robbery and first degree theft of property, according to prison officials. Records show he was originally convicted on those charges in Madison County in 2007.

ADOC records show that Boyett was being held in what the agency calls minimum-community custody. The department said inmates in this form of custody are allowed to have gainful employment in the community on a full time basis while living in a supervised community based facility while not working…
