‘Truly a special place’: Redstone Arsenal turns 85

It’s been 85 years since the War Department announced July 3, 1941, the Army would build a chemical munitions plant in Huntsville.

We were preparing for World War II; and this would be the Army’s second chemical plant since Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland.
