Family says Huntsville shooting victim may have been killed in case of mistaken identity

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The family of a man shot and killed at a Huntsville gas station Wednesday is mourning his death and believes he may have been the victim of mistaken identity.

Huntsville police say Austin Ballesteros, 22, shot and killed Michael Walters, 44, outside a Texaco on Highway 72 after an argument between the two turned violent.

Walters’ sister, Angel Roman, said her brother did not know Ballesteros before the confrontation. After speaking with investigators, the family believes Ballesteros may have mistaken Walters for someone else before opening fire…
