Man held on $1M bond after drug bust at Madison County hotel

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Tennessee man on trafficking charges Wednesday after a narcotics investigation led to a drug seizure at a hotel on University Drive near McMurtrie Drive.

Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted an enforcement operation on Wednesday at the hotel. During the operation, detectives encountered Lucas Sean Clem, 48, of Tennessee.

The sheriff’s office says Clem was found in possession of about 2.9 ounces of cocaine and 7.8 grams of methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and charged with drug trafficking and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. His bonds total $1,002,500.

“Illegal drugs don’t stop at city, county or state lines, and neither do the consequences they bring,” said Sheriff Kevin Turner. “Our responsibility is to protect the people of Madison County. That means being proactive, following the intelligence and holding those who bring dangerous drugs into our community accountable.”…
