HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Huntsville Police, the FBI, and other agencies spent Thursday morning searching the Meteor Buffet on Highway 72 East. Officials have not yet released details about what sparked the investigation.
Owner charged with conspiracy
Records from the Madison County Jail show the restaurant’s owner, Chao Zhang, was booked into custody on Thursday. Jail records list his charge as conspiracy to commit a crime. Secretary of State records show Zhang is the registered owner of the business.
Jail records show Zhang’s partner, Caiyun Chen, has also been arrested on a human trafficking charge.
The two were booked just 18 minutes apart…
