MARSHALL CO., Ala. (WAFF) – An Army AH-64 Apache helicopter made a precautionary landing in a field in Marshall County near the town of Arab during a routine flight after experimental test pilots identified a potential maintenance issue, according to a statement from the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center.
The pilots landed the aircraft safely, officials said. A crew of aircraft maintainers was then dispatched to the area in an Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter as teams work to determine whether the Apache can continue flying to its intended destination.
