First Alert Storms moving into the Valley

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Happy Saturday! Much-needed rain is heading into the Valley and dropping temperatures for the night. First Alert Weather Day has been issued for the various events planned for this evening. Keep the umbrella on standby! Through the night, our greatest threats are heavy rainfall and lightning. Sunday morning will be much cooler with a few 40s in the mix. It will be a cloudy start to the day, but patchy sunshine will return by the evening.

Looking at the work week, temperatures will be off to a cooler start, but conditions remain dry. 80s will return by midweek, and rain is expected for Friday. A pattern shift is expected for the following week, with rain trending in the forecast for each day. So far, nothing has proven to be severe just yet, but we are in the peak of the severe weather season. We’ll continue to monitor weather models as things change!…
