Indiana DNR: 40+ playgrounds updated at Indiana State Parks

INDIANAPOLIS — Officials gathered at Fort Harrison State Park in Lawrence on Thursday to commemorate updates to more than 40 playgrounds across Indiana State Parks.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources, along with Indiana Gov. Mike Braun and First Lady Maureen Braun, hosted a ribbon-cutting for an updated playground on Thursday, according to a news release.

This comes after the Lilly Endowment awarded a $50 million grant to the Indiana DNR, $11 million of which was used to update the playgrounds, the release said.

“Investments into our state parks are an investment into Hoosier health and Hoosier families,” Mike Braun said in the release. “Thanks to the generosity of Lilly Endowment, we are creating spaces for all families to enjoy and experience the very best of Indiana’s outdoors. Indiana state parks and natural resources are part of what makes our state such a special place to live, work and raise a family.”…
