Marion County taxpayers weigh in on possible school tax increase for public education

INDIANAPOLIS — Inside Arsenal Technical High School’s library Thursday night, Marion County taxpayers discussed what could become the next chapter in school funding.

The Indianapolis Public Education Corporation, or IPEC, held a public listening session as it considers whether to ask voters to approve a new school funding referendum later this year.

The current referendum, approved in 2018, expires this year. It costs 19 cents per $100 of assessed value and supports Indianapolis Public Schools and IPS Innovation Network schools…
