For the last several years, Scott Hester has worked to beautify the front edge of his property with flowers, plants and landscaping for those walking the path along Rohrer Road or the Monon Trail, which is on the other side of the street.
The longtime Carmel resident said he frequently receives compliments on the area and that it has been used as a backdrop for photo shoots.
But on July 15, with the heat index hovering near 100 degrees, Hester and his wife, Brandi, scrambled to relocate all of the plants between the road and pathway to other areas on the property…
