INDIANAPOLIS – More than 50 people were displaced in a Sunday evening apartment fire.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, just before 8:40 p.m., fire crews responded to the Diplomat Apartments at 2425 Albany Street on a report of a kitchen fire on the third floor of the building.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the building. They searched for the source of the fire while simultaneously working to evacuate the residents.
