Indianapolis is filling potholes the wrong way

Indianapolis is wasting taxpayers’ money throwing asphalt into dirty potholes. It does not work.

The city needs to have an air compressor truck blowing the dirt and debris out of the potholes and a hot tar trailer spraying hot tar into the clean holes. Then fill them with a finer mix, with more sand in it and a small roller bringing up the rear rolling it down. It would be a longer-lasting patch.

They are throwing asphalt into dirty holes and patting it with a shovel. The traffic comes by the tar and gravel sticks to the tires and out it goes. The city should also add pulverized junk rubber tires to the mix.

In my opinion, this would make more sense than throwing asphalt in a dirty hole.
