INDIANAPOLIS — Approximately 90 Hoosiers are now out of a job after a “mass layoff” was announced by an Indianapolis-based non-profit that provides caregivers to those in need.
CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions made the announcement last month in a WARN Notice filed with the State of Indiana. Established in 1974 as the Central Indiana Council on Aging, CICOA is a non-profit that connects older adults and people with disabilities to the proper care.
Mass layoff
The WARN notice filed with the state says approximately 90 non-union employees working in the Indy area will be affected by CICOA’s layoff. The employer cited recent changes to the Indiana FSSA as the reason for the job cuts.
“As a result of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s decision not to continue CICOA as a case management provider, CICOA has experienced a loss of government funding and must implement a mass layoff,” the WARN notice read…
