Indiana track meet canceled following fight between students

INDIANA — A track meet at Avon Middle School North was called off Wednesday evening after a fight between students led to police intervention, according to school officials.

In a letter sent to parents of track and field participants, Principal Mike McKinney said two students became involved in a “physical altercation” during the meet. McKinney said a parent who arrived at the scene then “escalated the situation,” prompting officers to respond.
