Carmel firefighters battle blaze in parks maintenance building

Carmel firefighters battled a blaze in a Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation storage and maintenance building shortly before 6 p.m. May 13.

First responders saw “a significant fire column” as they neared the scene in the 1400 block of E. 116th Street, according to Carmel Fire Department spokesperson Tim Griffin.

Firefighters accessed the building through the adjacent CCPR administration building drive. They discovered “heavy fire” in a corner of the building, Griffin said…
