Fishers police K9 dies after 8.5 years of service

FISHERS, Ind. — The Fishers Police Department is mourning the loss of K9 “Barry.”

According to FPD, Barry had served for 8.5 years alongside his handler, Officer Ralph.

“He was a loyal partner, protector, and friend who dedicated his life to serving others,” FPD wrote in a Facebook post.

Barry was involved in 21 criminal apprehensions, 460 drug searches and 82 patrol deployments. He even helped track down a shooting suspect who had run back into a house…
