JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The sentencings for former Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba, former Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens and former Jackson City Councilman Aaron Banks have been rescheduled.
According to court documents, the three men will be sentenced on November 5, 2026, instead of October 15, 2026.

Lumumba, Owens and Banks pled guilty to conspiracy in connection to the Jackson bribery scandal. They faced charges linked to alleged soliciting and accepting bribes from undercover FBI agents.
