JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A Jackson city councilman is calling on the administration to end a parking agreement with SP Plus Parking, saying the contract isn’t living up to its promise.
At a budget meeting on Monday, Ward One Councilman Ashby Foote raised concerns about the city’s contract with SP, asking why Jackson had yet to bring in any revenue from parking meters so far in fiscal year 2026.
“If we’re not getting any money, then we need to throw that contract out and start over,” he said. “If you want to save money, that’s what we need to go after – stupid contracts.”…
