JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – More than a dozen former tenants are demanding the owner of an abandoned South Jackson apartment complex return their security deposits, months after the facility was ordered to be cleared out due to a lack of running water.
In August, the Mississippi Home Corporation ordered owners of the Blossom Apartments to relocate tenants after water had been shut off there for more than two weeks.
Now, as a court decides whether to put the Woodbine Street complex under a receiver – a court-appointed manager to oversee the property – former residents there are demanding owners return their security deposits…
