Jackson, Mississippi — Two students from Millsaps College have earned prestigious national leadership honors from Omicron Delta Kappa, one of the nation’s oldest and most selective leadership honor societies. Elyse Warren and Olivia Danos are among only six undergraduates nationwide to receive the awards each year, and both are from Millsaps.
Warren, a senior from Memphis, Tennessee, was named the Gen. Russell E. Dougherty National Leader of the Year, the society’s highest undergraduate honor. Danos, a senior from Houston, Texas, received the National Leader of the Year in Athletics award. Both students serve as officers of Millsaps’ Omicron Delta Kappa chapter, with Warren as president and Danos as secretary.
It is uncommon for two students from the same college to earn the honor in the same year, according to Megan James, vice president of student life and dean of students at Millsaps and an ODK advisor.
