Alcohol distributor files notice to close Jacksonville facility

Republic National Distributing Co., a Texas-based alcohol distributor, filed a notice saying it is closing its Jacksonville facility as it sells off some assets, affecting 169 jobs in Jacksonville.

The notice filed April 23 under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act said the buyer, Reyes Holdings, plans to offer employment to some of the workers but the Illinois-based company does not have any facilities in the Jacksonville area, according to its website.

Republic said employees not accepting or receiving offers from Reyes will be terminated within 14 days of June 21…
