Driver seriously injured in ‘airborne’ Bergen County crash

A driver was seriously injured on July 10 after their Toyota went off the road in Bergen County and “became airborne,” authorities said.

New Jersey State Police responded to the Garden State Parkway crash site at 4:18 p.m. It happened on the southbound side of the road, near milepost 167.8 in the Township of Washington.

The SUV “traveled down a grass median, struck multiple trees, became airborne and struck an upward-sloped embankment,” wrote Trooper Christopher Postorino in an email to NorthJersey.com. “The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.”…
