A man ambushed a 38-year-old woman from behind as she stood outside 222 15th Street in Brooklyn early Saturday morning, sexually assaulting her before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. The attack happened around 3:14 a.m. in the South Slope section of the neighborhood, and the suspect remains unidentified.
According to FOX 5 New York, the unidentified man approached the woman from behind, pushed her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her before running off. The victim did not require hospitalization, per NYPD. Police described the suspect as last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, a black shirt, gray shorts, and black-and-white sneakers.
The block sits within Sector A of the NYPD’s 78th Precinct, the command responsible for patrolling Park Slope, South Slope, and Gowanus, according to Bklyner. That sector covers the stretch between 5th Avenue and the Gowanus Canal, running from Atlantic Avenue down to 15th Street.

NYPD is asking anyone with information, or anyone who recognizes the suspect from the description, to come forward.
