SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings opened their run in this year’s MHSAA Softball Tournament with a 12-1 win in five innings at Schoolcraft in a Division 3 District first round game.
Bronson’s pitchers split duties on the circle; Madison Shaw went four innings and allowed a run on four hits with six strikeouts, while Ashlynn Harris threw a scoreless fifth and struck out three. Shaw helped her own cause at the plate by going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Delanee Carpenter was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Hermosa Gonzalez hit a 2-run double.
Head coach Becky Gray said after the game, “We didn’t play our best tonight but at this stage of the game a win is a win and we will take it. We will look to polish up these next three days and hopefully get two wins on Saturday.”…
