KALAMAZOO, MI — A man charged in a Mother’s Day drive-by that killed 33-year-old Marcus Leonard Pierce in 2023, has had all charges against him dismissed.
Dontaviour Lawrel Smith, now 24, was one of three men charged in the fatal shooting that also injured two others. Smith, who was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2025, was extradited back to Kalamazoo on a nine-felony count.
