KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – With the National Weather Service predicting the Kalamazoo area will experience extreme heat Wednesday, city officials are gearing up with cooling shelters, colling centers, and public hydration stations.
The most current predictions call for the temperature to rise from 80 degrees in the late morning to a high of 90 degrees by 4:00 p.m. With forecasted humidity of 60 percent during the late afternoon, the heat index should be approximately 100 degrees. The temperature will drop back down to around 80 degrees by 10:00 p.m. and into the mid 70’s by midnight.
