LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Thousands of victims of domestic and sexual violence as well as stalking in Ingham, Eaton and Calhoun counties will soon find it harder to get court orders to keep their perpetrators away.
Two nonprofits that have helped people obtain personal protection orders have lost state grants that funded their programs. As a result, End Violent Encounters of Lansing and S.A.F.E. Place in Battle Creek tell 6 News Investigates they are winding down assistance programs that have served thousands of victims in the last year.
