An ousted treasurer is running again. Kalamazoo Township trying to stop it

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The former Kalamazoo Township treasurer who resigned amid allegations of incompetence has filed to run for the office again, though the township is trying to stop it from happening.

Sherine Miller is listed as one of two candidates running for the partial treasurer’s term set to end in November 2028. Also listed is Clara Robinson — she was the person picked to replace Miller after her resignation.

Both are running as Democrats in the Aug. 4 primary. One will advance to the Nov. 3 general election as the only name on the ballot; no Republicans are running.
