‘Wake Low’ windstorm working its way across Lower Michigan, Odd wind toppling trees

A circulation has developed behind a line of thunderstorms. This circulation is generating wind gusts up to 59 mph so far. This patch of high wind gusts will move east and northeast across Lower Michigan between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The radar looks like nothing is going on as far as thunderstorms. That’s true. The circulation behind the initial line of thunderstorms formed in almost clear skies.

High wind gusts have been tracking east from Iowa and Wisconsin, and now into southwest Lower Michigan at 5 p.m…
