BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) – A Bangor Township school board is facing criticism after two students were questioned by a district-hired attorney without their parents being notified.
The controversy began in October when Melissa Gary discovered her daughter, Emerson Jurek, a freshman at Bangor John Glenn High School, and another student were questioned in school. Gary says Emerson was told not to tell her mother about the questioning.
“They put my daughter in a room with an attorney that they hired by herself. She had no representative. They asked her questions that were inappropriate and sexual in nature, when there are proper steps for that,” Gary said…
