KC homicide person of interest arrested after pursuit

CLAY COUNTY, Mo. — A person of interest in a Kansas City homicide was arrested Wednesday after a high-speed chase that ended at a data center.

Jack E.H. Leech, who police noted has a criminal history, faces Clay County charges of vehicle tampering and fleeing. He is held on a $100,000 bond.

According to a probable cause statement, a Kansas City detective spotted Leech and two others in a stolen 2024 BMW at 10:45 p.m. When the detective approached, Leech reportedly swapped into the driver’s seat, rammed the police car and sped away.
