KCK man dies after altercation with Buchanan County deputies

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 36-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man following a disturbance reported near the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 45 on May 28.

According to the sheriff’s office, dispatchers received a call at approximately 11:51 a.m. regarding what was initially reported as a rolling domestic incident. The call was later reclassified as a check-the-welfare incident. While deputies were en route, dispatch advised that a woman on the call used the word “kidnapping” and stated she feared for her life.
