A Kansas City, Missouri, man has been charged in federal court with possessing unregistered destructive devices, a violation of federal law.
Lake Ethan Roberts, 26, was charged in a one-count criminal complaint and made his initial court appearance Thursday.
According to court documents, Roberts was allegedly a member of a group known as the “Red Legs,” which authorities say has been active since at least November 2023. Members of the group reportedly communicated through a private online chat, where discussions centered on plans to carry out acts of violence against government agencies, government property, and political opponents.
