KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas says the Kansas City skyline is expected to be lit-up again by the iconic Western Auto Sign.
On Tuesday, the mayor took to social media to announce an “old friend” will be showing out for the first World Cup match in Kansas City.

The announcement comes just two weeks after Western Auto Lofts HOA President Jessica Best acknowledged that the deadline for city leaders and the HOA to come to an agreement had been missed.
“What we have coming out of this are good prevailing wage jobs to fix up the sign and we have a sign that’s guaranteed to be on for 10 years after this and maintained,” Lucas told FOX4 in a previous interview.
