KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas says the FIFA World Cup in Kansas City has been a success. Now, his goal is to capitalize as Kansas City tries to attract other large events.
That includes the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2031.
“We had 36,000 people walk through the core of downtown Kansas City through Grand, where we have all of our Royals and Chiefs parades, and it went off without a hitch,” Mayor Lucas said, referencing the Netherlands’ Oranje Fan Walk.
