A 33-year-old Independence man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after admitting to shooting a man twice, once after the victim had crawled away, according to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Joshua W. Perry pleaded guilty in April to one count of unlawful use of a weapon causing an injury. As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed armed criminal action and first-degree burglary charges.
