When Johnny and Helen Jo Leach set out to bring their neighborhood corner restaurant to Columbus Park, taking over the adored but breakfast-and-lunch-only Happy Gillis, serving dinner was part of the plan.
But it would take some time for the married chef duo and co-owner Sondy Bojanic to launch it — six months after opening Dear Donna, to be exact. They held a soft opening for their dinner service on Sept. 10 and have kept Dear Donna open into the evening every Thursday and Friday since then.
