KC Pet Project issues urgent plea with only two dog kennels left

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – With 254 dogs in its care and only two open kennels left, KC Pet Project is running out of space and calling on the public for urgent help.

The shelter reached critical capacity this week as intake far outpaced adoptions, with 93 dogs arriving since Sunday and only 40 leaving. Staff members said every available housing space is full.

To help clear kennels, adoption fees are waived through Sunday, Oct. 4, for dogs weighing 40 pounds or more. Qualifying adoptions also include a pet parent starter kit stocked with food, toys, and supplies…
