Shooting victim faces eviction after repairs, rent assistance delayed

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Highland Avenue family is facing eviction after a shooting left bullet holes in their home and delayed rental assistance payments.

Dozens of bullets were fired near Highland Avenue on Aug. 10, according to police. Bria Pickett said her family has not been able to move on from the incident, and the home they live in is now in limbo.
