Lake City Army Ammunition Plant union rallies, calls to return to bargaining table

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – Striking IAM Union workers enter a third week without a contract at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.

The union said IAM Union Local 778 workers gathered at 5 a.m. Monday morning. They called on Olin Winchester to return to the bargaining table. They were joined by other machinists, family members and other supporters.

The union members said they are demanding a contract that includes a raise and an end to excessive and forced overtime. The workers said the overtime demands cut into their work-life balance and is hard on family life…
