Two women charged in shooting at Independence Avenue smoke shop

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Two women faced three felony charges on Tuesday morning after they were accused of being involved in a weekend shooting.

Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson stated that Ashley Mack and Mia Shaw were charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and second-degree burglary.

Court records indicated that an employee at Lit Smoke Shop in the 4800 block of Independence Avenue had told two women to leave the store after they screamed at him. Their brother had been banned from the store the previous day after he had threatened staff, the prosecutor stated…
