A 28-year-old Orlando woman and former Walt Disney World cast member is facing felony charges after she allegedly stuffed more than 100 items into a reusable bag at the flagship World of Disney store and walked out without paying, then swapped her shirt and pinned her hair into a bun in an apparent attempt to slip past security at Disney Springs.
Cynthia Elizabeth Molina is accused of taking merchandise valued at $2,193, according to the incident report cited by WDWNT. The haul reportedly included a Mickey Mouse plush, colored pencils, stationery pouches, bracelets, necklaces, trinkets, and phone straps, among other Walt Disney World items. A World of Disney cast member first noticed Molina standing near the jewelry area with a large reusable bag, and an employee later alerted the store manager after watching her tear locked-up bracelets from their display hooks and place them in the already-full bag, per the same account.
Manager Says He Was Pushed While Confronting Her
When the manager approached Molina and told her she needed to pay for the merchandise, she allegedly left the store without doing so. The manager reported that Molina pushed him as she walked out, though Molina has accused the manager of touching her first, placing his hand on her right arm while she was holding the bag. Store surveillance reportedly captured her brushing off the manager’s hand as she exited.
The manager contacted Disney security, and the store’s employee and manager followed Molina as she left. According to the incident report, Molina had changed her shirt — she had been wearing a Toy Story shirt when she left the store — and put her hair up in a bun before making her way toward Raglan Road at Disney Springs. Despite the changed appearance, the employee and manager were able to identify her.
