Construction is underway on the long-awaited Sawmill Road extension in Norris, a project city leaders hope will ease traffic concerns and improve access to the Norris Industrial Park.
If work remains on schedule, the road could open to vehicle traffic by mid-November.
The new route is expected to provide another way in and out of original Norris while also helping redirect large industrial trucks away from existing neighborhoods and narrow streets.
