Facing indictment, veteran KCSO officers file for retirement

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Three veteran leaders of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office who are facing indictment are ready to retire.

KCSO Assistant Chief Deputy David Amburn, Capt. Aaron Yarnell and Capt. James Hammond submitted retirement applications last month, soon after a Knox County grand jury indicted them, records show.
