Spotty storms Saturday with better coverage of rain Sunday
- Today: Variably cloudy with a few spotty showers/storms around (30%), especially in the afternoon/evening hours. A few storms could contain gusty winds. High: 89°.
- Tonight: Any lingering, spotty storms will fizzle shortly after sunset, leaving a variably cloudy and mild night. Low: 73°
- Sunday: Still sticky with the risk of additional scattered P.M./Evening storms (40%). A few storms could contain strong winds. High: 88°.
The weekend will remain warm and muggy with highs in the upper 80s (Heat index values in the upper 90s), but there will also be some increased opportunities for afternoon/evening storms. They will still be “scattered” in nature, meaning not everyone will see them, and you don’t need to completely cancel outdoor plans, but understand that wherever these do form, there will be downpours and the threat of lightning.
Any of the storms that do develop on Saturday or Sunday could also produce some strong winds that will have the potential to cause isolated damage. Make sure you have several ways you can get any alerts in case any are issued, especially if you do have outdoor plans this weekend. It does appear that out of the two days, today will be “drier” than what we’ll likely see on Sunday.
